How to book a photographer?

Most likely you have never hired a photographer before. & planning a Wedding or an Event can already be overwhelming and daunting. A huge part of what I do is to make this part of it as easy as possible. We start with a quick, free phone call just to get to know each other a bit and go over whatever details you may have. This is a chance for me to ask you any questions you may not have thought of, and more importantly, a chance for you to ask me any and all questions you may have! After this I send you your customized Joe Curry Photography Shoot Packet. This contains a standard Contract, a Questionnaire, and a Quote. I am completely paperless, so this is all digital and electronic. Super easy! You are booked! We will now keep in close touch using a Shoot Sheet and a few more scheduled meetings and thats it! I show up and shoot awesome photos!

How does Payment work?

I accept a 25% deposit upon signing of the Contract. The balance is paid after wrap of the Wedding or Event. I can be flexible on this as I know events can run late and whatnot so the next day is typically fine. If you prefer a different payment set-up, this is something I am happy to discuss. I accept Cash, Zelle, Paypal, Venmo, Cash App, check and card. I can always supply a receipt if needed.

How long will it take to get my images and in what format?

Tom Petty said it best, “Waiting is the hardest part”. I won’t make you wait forever. I will send you 2-6 Sneak Peeks within 48 hours of our shoot. On my contract I state 8 weeks for full turn around after those sneak peeks are delivered. Typically it is more like 4-6, but I have a toddler who is in charge of my schedule and can we really trust technology. Even better is I will upload photos to your digital album AS I AM EDITING THEM! This means you aren’t waiting for one big delivery of photos, you get little surprises here and there!

Gone are the days of CDs and Thumbdrives, Dropbox and Google Drive. I am going to give you all of your FULL RESOLUTION, edited and processed images inside of a personal, beautiful online album. Your album is fully interactive. Like, share, comment and download all within the album. Downloads are completely FREE and available in a variety of sizes. They are also protected by a pin number (Drunk Uncle can’t go and download any photos you don’t want him to.) If you want event-prep photos, or Wedding-getting-ready photos private, no problem! I can do that.

Want a few 4x6’s, or how about a 24x36 canvas print. Easy peasy! You have a fully integrated print store totally built in!

Your online album is a personal, protected, gorgeous one-stop shop for everything you may need!

Do you work with a 2nd Shooter or Assistant?

Honestly, I would prefer both! It is ultimately up to you and your budget. Some of my packages include one or both. There are certain factors to look into when planning, such as your timeline or amount of guests for instance. This is something we could discuss on our initial phone call. I have shot plenty of weddings and events both with and without!

Do you have insurance? What about back-up gear?

Quick answer is Yes and Yes! Some venues require a Certificate Of Insurance. If I am given at least 48 hours notice I can provide a COI, no problem! I have A LOT of gear. This is mostly because I like photo gadgets and doodads, but also because you never know whats going to happen and I am prepared for anything!

What if you have to cancel?

This has never happened before but that doesn’t mean it can’t. I have a list of photographers I work with and trust and always make sure someone is available and on stand by on the day of the shoot.
